2012 – 2013 Executives
President – David Polsky
David is a 3rd year student majoring in General Business Management and International Business, while minoring in Philosophy. He is the CEO and co-founder of MNML Apparel Inc., a designer streetwear clothing company that operates in Vancouver and Montreal. David has found tackling complex business problems to be his passion, which led him to seek out a career in Management Consulting. His goal is to increase awareness of the incredible consulting career opportunities available to UBC students. David is fluent in French and English, and loves to rock-climb, ski and engage in philosophical discussions.
VP of Finance – Gregory McNamara
Gregory McNamara is entering his 2nd year at the Sauder School of Business. He is excited to be again part of the UBC Consulting Club this year as the new VP Finance and hopes to create a gateway for student body with professionals from the Consulting industry. He also plans with the rest of the executive team to build off of last year’s success and prosperity coming into this school year. Greg has worked as a summer analyst for one of the major Canadian banks for the past two summers. He is a very friendly individual and is always willing to lend a helping hand. Therefore, don’t be afraid to stop him in the halls and strike up a conversation!
VP of Communications – Marga Heras
Marga Heras is a 3rd year Economics student from Vancouver, BC, who has a strong background in team management, proactive solving, and public speaking. Having cultivated these skills through years of experience in professional and student organizations, she will focus her talents on enhancing the club’s on- and off-campus presence and enriching the organization’s image by increasing student and industry exposure. Her passions include snowboarding, foreign languages, community initiatives, and world travel.
VP of External – Teddy Leung
Teddy Leung is a 3rd year student at the Sauder School of Business majoring in Finance. He is looking forward to showing students from all faculties that obvious opportunities are not the only ones that exist. Teddy has a love for learning and has studied in Kingston, Montreal, and New York. Outside of school, he enjoys playing volleyball, reading, and watching the UFC.
VP of Events and Logistics – Serena Mawani
Serena Mawani is a 3rd year Commerce student double majoring in Marketing and Real Estate. She is excited to return to the UBC Consulting Club Executive Team as VP Events and Logistics, and looks forward to a year of great events. Passionate about community service, Serena spends much of her spare time volunteering, and loves interacting with kids. She also loves reading, singing, and playing tennis.
West Coast Case Competition Chair – Alice Guo
Alice is a senior specializing in Finance & Economics. She grew up in Mainland China, has studied in the U.S. and Canada, exchanged at the University of Hong Kong, and went on an academic trip to North Korea. Her varied experience makes her excited to communicate, interpret, and connect across cultures. From her past internships, she found she enjoys analyzing business problems and learning about different industries– thus she found consulting the most enticing. She is very excited to become the chairperson for WCCC this year, and she hopes to organize an event that will have a long-lasting impression on students who are interested in Consulting and case competitions. In her spare time, she enjoys swimming, travelling and watching a good movie.
VP of Marketing – Graeme Nixon
Graeme Nixon is entering his 3rd year at the Sauder School of Business, specializing in Business Technology Management and Finance. Through his role as VP Marketing of the UBC Consulting Club, Graeme strives to harness vast crowds and make this year the most attended yet. Graeme is also heavily involved in the CUS and promoting a healthy Sauder experience. Outside of university, Graeme loves to explore British Columbia’s coastal and forest regions, where he draws much of the inspiration for his canvas work at home. His other interests include the philosophical interpretations of Alan Watts, snowboarding at Whistler and swimming in the ocean.
VP of Recruitment and Interdisciplinary - Elisabeth Piccolo
Elisabeth Piccolo is a 3rd year student at the Sauder School of Business, pursuing a double option in Human Resources and Marketing and a minor in English Literature. She loves meeting new people so if you see her on campus don’t hesitate to strike up a conversation! Elisabeth is ecstatic to be joining UBC Consulting Club as VP Recruitment and Interdisciplinary, and she looks forward to building new bridges between the Consulting Club and UBC’s student body. Outside of school you can find her working at the pool as a lifeguard and swim instructor, or running up and down the wreck beach stairs. Elisabeth loves travelling and food, and she is constantly searching for incredible sights and yummy new places to eat.
MBA Consulting Club President – Nitin Tyagi
Nitin is a 2nd year MBA student at the Sauder School of Business majoring in Strategy and Marketing. He is looking forward to increasing the involvement of MBA students at the UBC consulting club events. With a strong background in the IT industry, Nitin has now focussed his attention towards management consulting. Apart from consulting , he is also passionate about cricket and loves watching comedy shows.
Junior Partner – Kseniia Vypyrailo
Kseniia Vypyrailo is a 2nd year student at the Sauder School of Business, with experience in leading and decision making. Intending to double major in Accounting and International Business, she is working to pursue a career as a Charted Accountant. She is looking forward to assisting every member of the UBC Consulting Club, as well as to initiating new opportunities for those who joined or are looking to join. Being an international student from Ukraine and being passionate about entrepreneurship, Kseniia is dynamic in regards to her interests, as well as to the interests of those around her.
Junior Partner – Lama Al-Awawdeh
Lama Al-Awawdeh is a first-year student at the University of British Columbia. She is incredibly passionate about consulting and has been working as the Assistant to the Managing Director of a Canadian-based international management consulting firm for around two years. Lama is from Toronto, Ontario with Palestinian heritage, and has also lived in Jordan, Malaysia, and Oman. She is fluent in four languages; English, Arabic, Spanish, and French; and hopes to continue learning more languages along the way. Besides her ever growing love for consulting, commerce, and law, Lama absolutely loves travel, food, charity, public-speaking, writing poetry, singing, yoga, and above all, playing and watching just about every competitive sport. After completing her undergraduate degree, Lama plans on studying at Harvard Law and Stanford Business, as she is convinced that learning is invaluable and crucial to self-improvement and perfection. She is looking forward to being part of the team this year, and is beyond excited for all of the incredible opportunities and challenges that await her!

President – Peter Yang
Peter is a 5th Year student majoring in Accounting and International Business. His past entrepreneurial ventures and case competition experiences eventually made him realize that he learned most from being hands on and proactive solving – thus he looked for opportunities in consulting. He enjoys leading the Consulting Club Team and he wants to further expose consulting career opportunities to more UBC students. Peter enjoys traveling, water sports and is looking forward to moving to Toronto next year to begin his career in management consulting.
VP of Finance – Caleb Leung
Caleb Leung is entering his fourth year at the Sauder School of Business, pursuing a double major in Finance and Real Estate. He is excited to join the UBC Consulting Club as the VP Finance and hopes to connect the student body with professionals from the Consulting industry. Outside of his academics, Caleb is an avid hockey fan who can often be found spending time with his friends and enjoying Vancouver’s local beaches.
VP of Communications – Rahim Rajani
Rahim Rajani is a second year General Science student who is hoping to transfer into the Sauder School of Business, after which he plans to attain a Bachelors of Commerce degree. He is thrilled to be apart of the UBC Consulting Club as the VP of Communications, since the role allows him to be an integral part of the club’s revamp. Rahim enjoys traveling, watching and playing hockey, as well as practicing in the Martial Art of Ninjutsu.
VP of External – Jacob Goranson
Jacob Goranson completed his Bachelor of Commerce in May 2013 and now works at McKinsey and Company in their Calgary office. During his time at the UBC Consulting Club, Jacob worked to build an external network with local consulting firms, grow the the tri-mentorship program, and founded the Strategy Consulting Initiative (SCI).
VP of Events & Logistics – Cecilia Wang
Cecilia Wang is a third year UBC Sauder School of Business student with an option in Marketing and a minor in Economics. She has lived around the world but enjoys studying in Vancouver because of the good food and weather. In her spare time, she enjoys working out, reading non-fiction, and going cross-boarder shopping with friends.
VP of Marketing – Serena Mawani
Serena Mawani is a second year Sauder student intending to major in marketing with a minor in biology. With a long history of volunteer work, Serena spends much of her time outside of school working with seniors and children. After graduating with a BCOM, Serena’s ambition is to attend Medical School and eventually become a Pediatrician, using her commerce background to start an organization for underprivileged terminally ill children. Her personal interests include singing, running, and reading, and she is very enthusiastic for this year and all that the UBC Consulting Club has to offer.
VP of Recruitment & Interdisciplinary – Gabrielle Chung
Gabrielle Chung is a 2nd year student at the Sauder School of Business. She plans to major in accounting and pursue a CA designation. Her interest in consulting comes from her belief that it is an integral part of business in which one would have to think outside the box to come up with the perfect solution. Her ambition one day is to have traveled the world by the age of 30.
As a second year student at the Sauder School of Business, Louisa is proud to represent the UBC Consulting Club and to work with an outstanding executive team. She is excited to have this opportunity to organize workshops and case competitions for fellow students who wish to enter the prestigious world of consulting. Coupled with her strong passion for inspiring youth philanthropy and community initiatives, Louisa was offered the Sauder School of Business Service Award. In her spare time, she enjoys travelling, shopping, and reading a good novel.
Junior Partner – Gregory McNamara
Originally from Toronto, but also half french, Gregory is a first year student at the Sauder School of Business. Along with his love for traveling, Gregory is also an avid sports’ fan and is especially passionate about hockey, which he played competitively until he decided to focus on his post secondary studies. He is extremely excited to be part of the UBC Consulting Club and is ready to help play an important role in its prosperity. Gregory has worked as a summer analyst for one of the major Canadian banks last summer, which he hopes to continue this summer as well. West Coast Case Competition Chair – Justin Chan
Justin Chan is going into his final year of BCOM with a finance specialization. Having enjoyed his participation in business case competitions, he is now excited about the opportunity to organize an international case competition at the Sauder School of Business. Justin also has previous experience in equity research, mining, and insurance and is excited about making the transition into his professional career. In his leisure time, Justin enjoys investing, sports, and non-fiction reading.
